Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC)
 
There are five vacancies being advertised.
 
Appointments made by the City Council
and Board of County Commissioners
 
The primary purpose of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) is to provide advice to
the City Council and the Board of County Commissioners on bicycle and pedestrian issues. The
Commission meets at 7:00 p.m. on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in the 2nd
Floor Committee Room of
Durham City Hall. Members serve without compensation.
 
In addition to the monthly meeting, members are expected to be active members of at least one
committee. Committees meet once a month and sometimes sponsor special events. Here is the
committee meeting schedule:

Community Engagement Committee: First Tuesday of month, 6:30 pm, Geer Street Garden,
644 Foster Street, Durham

Development Review Committee: First Thursday, 6:30 pm, Alivia’s Bistro, 900 West Main
Street, Durham

Bike and Pedestrian Plan Implementation and Evaluation Committee: Second Thursday, 6:30
pm, Nanataco / Q Shack, 2512 University Dr, Durham

Education and Encouragement Committee: Fourth Tuesday, 6:30 pm, Geer Street Garden,
644 Foster Street, Durham
