Google Fiber is Coming to Durham
Google Fiber is coming to Durham. Google Fiber Director of Business Operations Michael Slinger made the announcement with Mayor William V. "Bill" Bell and other Triangle mayors during a news conference on January 27.

City Receives National Recognition for Use of Federal Housing Funds
The City is receiving national recognition for its use of federal housing funds in support of the Southside Revitalization project. Durham is one of seven communities nationwide recently honored with the Audrey Nelson Award by the National Community Development Association.


Sign and Façade Grants to Help With Improvements to Ninth Street Businesses
Nearly $71,000 in grants from the City will soon help make improvements to 13 Ninth Street businesses. The sign and façade grants are designed to improve the pedestrian environment and shopping experience in the Ninth Street Area.

State of the City Address Set for February 16
Mayor William V. "Bill" Bell will deliver his annual State of the City Address on February 16 from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The address will be carried live on Durham Television Network as well as live-streamed from the City's website and live-tweeted from the City's Twitter feed.
