Poverty Reduction Initiative Action Strategies Outlined
The task forces that make up the Durham Poverty Reduction Initiative are outlining the strategies they've developed for helping low-income families address their most common challenges, which includes health, education, jobs, finance, public safety and housing.

Police Encourage RAIDS Online Use
The Durham Police Department is encouraging all residents to make use of a free crime-mapping tool called RAIDS Online. Analytical Services Manger Jason Schiess explains why RAIDS Online is considered to be more useful than the outdated CrimeMapper tool.


City Postpones New Police Headquarters Property Purchase
The City Council has postponed the purchase of land for the next police headquarters so more studies can be completed on the site's potential environmental problems. The goal is to make sure that the amount the seller is willing to put aside will cover any clean-up costs.
