County Announces Saturday Recycling Collection for Missed Customers



Durham, N.C. - This week roadside recycling collection in the unincorporated areas of Durham County has been extremely challenging due to hazardous road conditions that have not allowed the recycling collection trucks to safely service all customers on the Tuesday A, Thursday A and Friday A routes.  Waste Industries, the County's recycling collection contractor, will make another attempt on this Saturday, February 21, 2015, to collect recyclables from houses missed due to unsafe road conditions.



Customers scheduled for service this week that were missed are asked to leave or return your recycling cart to the roadside for collection no later than 7 a.m. Saturday morning.  If your road is deemed safe to travel this second time around by Waste Industries, your recycling will be collected.



Customers whose recycling has not been picked up after Saturday are asked to either hold their recyclables until their next scheduled pick up date or take to the nearest County Convenience Site.



The County's four convenience sites are located as follows:

 *   Parkwood - 5928 Highway 55, Durham - 919-560-0460
 *   Bahama- 9008 Quail Roost Road, Durham - 919-477-8552
 *   Redwood-Redwood Road & Electra Road, Durham - 919-682-8200
 *   Rougemont-108 Bill Poole Road, Durham-919-477-4325
