[Durham INC] Protest Petition Bill in Committee Thursday Morning

Dear Neighbors:

 

I had anticipated writing to you again so soon, but today I learned that the
Protest Petition repeal bill, House Bill 201, is scheduled to come up in the
House Local Government Committee at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 19.  Please
write to the committee members and ask them to vote against the bill.  Their

Today's other news is that another protest petition repeal bill was
introduced in the senate.  It is Senate Bill 300.  Its sponsors are Senator
Andy Wells from Hickory, Senator Jane Smith from Lumberton, and Senator
Michael Lee from Wilmington.  If you have not written to your city's
legislative delegation yet, please do so right away.  You can find the email

Thanks.  If we all pull together on this, I believe we can save our 92
year-old right to file a protest petition against a rezoning.
