New GoTransit Brand Unveiled
The Triangle's transit system is now operating under the GoTransit brand. Mayor William V. "Bill" Bell joined NCDOT Secretary Tony Tata in unveiling the new look, name and brand during a news conference on March 25. Mayor Bell explains why the change was needed and what it will mean for transportation in the Triangle.

Applications Sought for Free Environmental Job Training
Applications are now being accepted for free environmental job training. The 12-week Environmental Workforce Development & Job Training Program will teach the skills needed to get a full-time job in the environmental field. Applications are due to the City's Office of Economic and Workforce Development by June 15.

Police Department's New Public Affairs Manager Hopes to Build on Communication Successes
The Durham Police Department has a new public affairs manager. Wil Glenn now leads the department's public affairs unit, which develops and distributes information about police programs, services, policies and activities. Find out why Glenn says he feels fortunate to be joining a department that already does so many things well and how he hopes to build on those successes.


City's Dedicated Housing Funds to Assist with Affordable Housing Improvement Projects
The City's dedicated housing funds will soon help to make significant improvement projects a reality at dozens of affordable rental housing units throughout Durham. Urgent capital and accessibility improvements will be made at 77 affordable rental-housing units located in Southwest Central Durham and elsewhere in the city.
