[Durham INC] Beaver Queen Kickoff Party @ Parker & Otis (free/no cover) This Saturday 6-8!

Dear Neighbors and Friends,

The Ellerbe Creek Watershed Association (ECWA) would like to invite you all to Tails & Tiaras, an event that we have coming up this Saturday, April 25th from 6-8pm at Parker & Otis (112 S. Duke St, Durham). This is your opportunity to be introduced to this year's Beaver Queen Pageant contestants!!!! 

For those of you who are not familiar with the annual <http://beaverlodgelocal1504.org/>  Beaver Queen Pageant, it is a free, fun, family-friendly and always entertaining community event held in the Duke Park meadow, that raises awareness about the importance of green space and clean water in downtown Durham. It is a fundraiser for ECWA as the audience bribes the judges to vote for their favorite contestants. The 2015 Beaver Queen Pageant, Beavers do Bollywood, will be held in Duke Park on Saturday, June 6th! 

SO.... Please join us this Saturday at Parker and Otis to shake your tails with Durham's very own New Orleans style parade band the Bulltown Strutters <http://bulltownstrutters.org/> , hear from the contestants and judges, and enjoy some food and drink. 50% of all food and drink sales and 20% of all other store sales will be donated to ECWA during the event hours. The event will be emceed by Ellen Ciompi. 

Admission to Tails & Tiaras will be free, but bribing the judges and buying votes for the contestants will be encouraged! Donors will be entered in a drawing for a $250 value gift basket prize from Sponsor Morgan Imports. 

 

Event will be on rain or shine - we have adjacent indoors space if needed.
