[Durham INC] 15/501 Diet

Be sure to read the comments from concerned citizens at the end of this article from the N&O.  15/501 between Chapel Hill Road and University Drive is disaster.  There is nothing desirable about that corridor, from a commuting standpoint.  It's a raceway, and way under capacity.  With limited public funds, this is likely the only opportunity for the foreseeable future to make a positive difference there.  Don't know why businesses think that they will suffer.  If it's more attractive to more people because of these improvements, I could see business getting better.  Ask Geer St Garden, the Pit, or Torero's Pizza how their business survives without a 4 lane highway in front of it.
