City Council Approves 2015-2016 Budget
Durham's budget is now in place for the coming fiscal year. City Council members approved the $388 million spending plan during their June 15 meeting. The budget maintains the current property tax rate of 59.12 cents per $100 of assessed property value.

Public Art and Lighting Project Moves Ahead for Main Street
A public art and lighting project is in the works for Main Street through downtown. The City will use $88,000 in downtown development funding to create a series of sculptures and light elements along Main Street in the Business Improvement District.


Get Your Grass Off Gas Held on June 27
On Saturday, June 27, gas-powered yard equipment can be traded in for cleaner and greener electric versions. The 5th annual Get Your Grass Off Gas event allows residents to drop off gas-powered yard equipment in exchange for an online code to purchase discounted electric yard equipment.
