Tax Administration Mails Out 2016 Reappraisal Notices
Durham, N.C.
 – On Tuesday, September 8, 2015, Durham County Tax Administration Office mailed the 2016 reappraisal notices to Durham County citizens.  Citizens are advised to look for their 2016 real property reappraisal notice in the mail in the coming days.  Enclosed
 are also two brochures that provide further information on the property tax relief programs and tips on appealing the value.

 
The Tax Office has released several online tools to assist citizens with their review of their 2016 value.  You can
 now use www.dconc.gov/taxhelp to review your property characteristics, review comparable sales used in the market analysis by the Assessor for setting market value for single family residential, multi-family residential
 units (condominiums, town house, and duplexes), ability to schedule a face to face meeting with our appraisers at locations throughout the county, and appeal online. 

 
The tax office has also extended their phone support to assist citizens with reappraisal questions until 7 p.m., from
 December 9 until January 8, 2016.  
Kimberly Simpson, Tax Administrator encourages citizens to review their value, review the comparable sales and then
 determine if they feel their property value is correct to the current market values as of January 1, 2016.
