Mayor Says the City is Good and Getting Better During State of the City Address
Durham is good and getting better according to Mayor William V. "Bill" Bell. Mayor Bell offered that analysis during his Annual State of the City Address<https://youtu.be/cqnQtPGTqJ4>, which took on a more conversational tone as he reflected on the progress made by the City as well as areas that still need to be addressed during his last two years in office. His address also included the debut of This Is How We Do It<https://youtu.be/uQtxrlPsDvU> - an upbeat video highlighting just some of the things that make the Bull City a great place to live, work, and play.

Resident Satisfaction Survey Shows Residents are Happy with Durham
The first-ever combined City-County Resident Satisfaction Survey<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/8829> shows that overall, residents are happy with Durham. The 2015 survey indicates that 8-of-10 residents feel Durham is a good-to-excellent place to live and work.

2016-2017 Budget Development Process Underway for City Leaders
The development process<http://durhamnc.gov/204/Budget-Development-Process> for the City's 2016-2017 Fiscal Year budget is well underway. City Council members and the City administration took part in a budget retreat on February 15. In addition to the results of the Resident Satisfaction Survey, they received an economic outlook, financial projections, and an update on this year's property tax revaluation and the impact it will have on the budget.


City to Continue Full Frame Documentary Film Festival Support
The City will once again be supporting the Center for Documentary Studies' production of the Full Frame Documentary Film Festival. The festival will use $55,000 in City funds<http://www.durhamnc.gov/agendas_new/2016/cma20160201/10890_MEMO_FY2015-2016_CONTRACT_382627_674853.PDF> to help produce this spring's event. In 2015, visitors attending the festival had a total economic impact of $2.2 million and a local tax impact of $92,000.
