[Durham INC] Stopping further 751-type encroachments on Durham's hard-worked sustainable planning

Re: the development below, if you can’t come out tonight (I have two regularly scheduled meetings and a cello lesson to get my kid to), please email the City Council with your concerns today. Just a few sentences will do. If we all do this, they should have at least a couple hundred emails by the end of business today. That should get their attention regarding the importance of this issue to their constituency.
Given my disillusion and heartbreak over the outcome of the 751 S fiasco, I have not been involved in development issues since. But, if I did not have several other obligations tonight, I would be there to speak in person.
I thought that the cost of 751 (in time, money and community) would have at least enabled Durham government to close the barn door once the horse got out. Looks like a whole herd of ‘em are coming if we don’t close it soon. And, if we start the process now, we may just have a state-legislature majority that truly believes in grass-roots rights and government on the local level.
