It was nice meeting you on Tuesday, and thanks for offering to help publicize the bicycle and pedestrian plan and upcoming public meeting. Below is a blurb I've been sharing about the different ways to get involved in the planning process. The City of Durham is currently updating and its Bicycle and Pedestrian Plans, and we need your help! We are working to identify which pedestrian and bicycle projects should be funded and built by the City. We need residents to help us identify places where they currently walk and/or bike, as well as where it is currently difficult to do so safely.  We are also seeking input on what criteria should be used to prioritize and rank projects.

1. 2. 3.     Use the interactive online map on the project website to identify routes you currently walk/bike, where you would like to, and specific locations you feel are dangerous.

4.     Come to the public meeting on Monday June 6th to ask questions, meet with the staff working on the plan and participate in the planning process. The event will be held from 4pm-7pm in the Auditorium of the Main Library (300 N. Roxboro Street). We will have participatory presentations at the top of each hour and various ways to provide feedback and comments.

5.     Spread the word! We want as many people in Durham to come to the public meeting, complete the survey, map their issues, and participate in the planning process.

6.     Host an event! The planning team would love to come speak to residents at a community meeting, event, or other activity.
