Durham Uses New Technology to Enable Faster Response to Alarm Calls
Police, Fire and EMS responders are now able to respond to emergency notices received from alarm companies even faster. Durham is now using new technology called Automated Secure Alarm Protocol (ASAP)<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/11579>. Durham Emergency Communications Center Director James Soukup explains how the new technology works and why it's better than the old system.

Graduation Ceremony Held for Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy #43
The Durham Police Department<http://durhamnc.gov/149/Police-Department> is proud to congratulate the 12 graduates of the most recent Basic Law Enforcement Training Academy. The officers graduated during a ceremony on July 26. During the training, they successfully passed more than 1,000 training hours in 36 state and department specific topics.

Durham City Hall on the Go Rolls Into Neighborhoods
Anyone needing help from City Hall now has a new option that will be coming directly to their neighborhood. The Durham City Hall on the Go<http://durhamnc.gov/2883/City-Hall-on-the-Go> truck will visit neighborhoods throughout the year. Every City department will have information on the truck and staff will be available to answer questions and provide assistance.
