Violent & Property Crimes Down Compared to First Six Months of Last Year
Part One Crime, which is violent and property crimes combined, is down compared to the first six months of last year. Police Chief Cerelyn Davis presented the second quarter crime report<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/11894> to the City Council during its August 15 meeting. City Continues to Address Failed & Struggling Developments
The City is continuing to work to address failed and struggling developments throughout Durham. Since a new developer has bought the remaining lots in the Emorywoods Orchards Subdivision<http://cityordinances.durhamnc.gov/OnBaseAgendaOnline/Documents/ViewDocument/Final-Published%20Attachment%20-%2011294%20-%20MEMO%20-%20CIP%20ORDINANCE%20AMENDMENT%20FOR%20REIMBU.pdf?meetingId=129&documentType=Agenda&itemId=1132&publishId=5524&isSection=false>, the City will pay approximately $84,000 for the unfinished streets there to be completed.
