Four Durham Neighborhoods Receive Grants
The quality of life in four Durham neighborhoods<https://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/12520> is about to be improved by projects funded with City grants. The Neighborhood Improvement Services Department has awarded funding through its Neighborhood Matching Grants Program.

Fair Housing Forum Educates About Federal & Local Fair Housing Laws
The Durham Fair Housing Forum<https://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/12289> was held on October 19 to make sure that anyone who builds or provides housing in Durham is aware of federal and local fair housing laws. The free forum covered topics such as reasonable accommodations and modifications, construction and design mandates, and universal design.

Sherwood Park Gets a Facelift
Durham's Sherwood Park<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/12208> is getting a facelift. The existing futsal court will be repaved and converted into three FIFA-sized courts with permanent goals installed on one. The fenced basketball courts will be renovated with a new spectator bleacher added, and new fences will be installed around both courts.

Veterans Day Holiday to Impact City Services
A number of City services and programs will be impacted by the upcoming Veterans Day holiday<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/12763>. Most City offices will be closed on Friday, November 11, and collections for yard waste and bulky items regularly scheduled for Fridays will occur instead on Monday, November 14.
