[Durham INC] Vote on Tuesday

A total of 119,600 folks voted early. This is a little over half of the registered voters in Durham County, which should relieve the lines in at least some precincts. I'm told the precincts will have more computers so the lines should be better than in the spring. Polls are open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM (if you get to the line by 7:30, you get to vote).
You don't need an ID to vote (except in a few cases for newly registered voters, who need a "proof of residency").
On cell phone use in the polling places, please don't aggravate them by doing the "3 T's" (talking, texting, taking pictures). Some judges will be just figuring this out, so for this election, it is probably a good idea to still take your paper copy of your choices.
If you're registered but have moved within Durham County, go to:
* Your new polling place if you've been there more than a month (they'll call your old place and get things straightened out)
* Your old polling place if you've moved within the last month (you vote where you lived on October 9).
* If you moved between counties, you will have to do a provisional vote (you should have gone to Early Voting to re-register).
You may be "inactive" - it is no big deal, you just missed sending back a form you were supposed to take care of. You essentially just sign that form at the polls before voting.
If you're not sure where (or whether) you are registered, look yourself up at https://vt.ncsbe.gov/voter_search_public/. In spite of 12-hour days at the BOE, some folks who thought they registered still are not. You can still do a provisional vote. It would help if you can remember when it was you tried to register.
