City Council Approves Letter of Support for Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit Project Funding
The City Council has approved a letter of support<http://cityordinances.durhamnc.gov/OnBaseAgendaOnline/Documents/ViewDocument/Final-Published%20Attachment%20-%2011577%20-%20OTHER%20-%20D-O%20LRT%20LETTER%20OF%20SUPPORT%20-%201.pdf?meetingId=163&documentType=Agenda&itemId=2747&publishId=11829&isSection=false> for a proposed funding plan for the Durham-Orange Light Rail Transit project. While the bulk of the funding for the project will come from the federal government and the state, Durham County's share is $135 million of the cost. The City agreed to work with the County on identifying local funding sources for the project.
