Most City of Durham Offices Closed for Labor Day
Residents Asked to Note Changes in City-Provided Services & Programs

DURHAM, N.C. - Most City of Durham offices, including City Hall and other non-emergency City operations, will be closed Monday, September 4 in observance of Labor Day.

Police, fire and rescue services for life-threatening or in-progress emergencies may be reached by calling 9-1-1. Non-emergency problems or concerns may be directed to (919) 560-4600.

The regularly scheduled City Council Meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 5 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers, located on the first floor of City Hall, 101 City Hall Plaza. Meetings are open to the public and may be viewed live on Durham Television Network<http://durhamnc.gov/1104/Durham-Television-Network>, streamed live<http://durham.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=2>, and viewed afterwards on demand on the City's website<http://durhamnc.gov/1153/Watch-DTN-Shows-on-Demand> and the City's YouTube channel<https://www.youtube.com/CityofDurhamNC>.

Residents are asked to take note of the following changes in other City-provided services and programs.

Solid Waste, Recycling, Yard Waste and Bulky Item Curbside Collections
The Solid Waste Management Department<http://durhamnc.gov/832/Solid-Waste-Management> will be closed on September 4. Collection for all services, including solid waste, recycling, yard waste and bulky items, will be delayed by one business day for the entire week. Collections for yard waste and bulky items on Friday, September 8 will occur on Monday, September 11. The Waste Disposal & Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and the Household Hazardous Waste Center<http://nc-durham.civicplus.com/898/Disposal-Facilities> will be closed on September 4.

Durham Parks and Recreation
Durham Parks and Recreation<http://durhamnc.gov/753/Parks-Recreation> will close its administrative office and all recreation centers on September 4. Recreation centers will operate under normal schedules on Saturday and Sunday. City lakes, Long Meadow Pool and outdoor facilities will be open regular hours Friday through Monday. GoDurham, GoDurham ACCESS and Bull City Connector
GoDurham<http://godurhamtransit.org/> and GoDurham ACCESS<http://godurhamtransit.org/access> will operate Sunday-service schedules on September 4, but administrative offices will be closed. The Bull City Connector<http://godurhamtransit.org/bcc> will not operate on September 4. Residents may submit a service request using the smartphone app<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/15550>, online service request<http://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call>, or leave a message at (919) 560-1200. Durham One Call will forward all requests for City services to the appropriate department on the next business day. For information about the City's holiday schedule and any other services that may be affected, contact Durham One Call at (919) 560-1200 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
