Central Park Waterline Replacement Project Update and Two-Week Look Ahead

September 14, 2017

The City appreciates your ongoing patience with the work along the busy corridors associated with the Central Park Waterline Replacement Project.  Additional information regarding this project can be found at: http://durhamnc.gov/1251/Durham-Central-Park-Waterline-Replacement.

Planned Road / Lane Closures will occur as follows:

  *   Week of 9/18:
     *   Corporation Street westbound will be closed between Morris Street and North Duke Street.
     *   Fuller Street will be closed between Corporation Street and Fernway Avenue.


  *   Week of 9/25:
     *   Corporation Street westbound will be closed between Morris Street and North Duke Street.
     *   Fuller Street will be closed between Corporation Street and Fernway Avenue.

Week of September 18, 2017:

  *   Corporation Street will be reduced to one lane as water line installation continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.

  *   Periodic one-lane interruptions will occur on Fernway Avenue and Fuller Street as water services are connected to the new water line.

     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   Fuller Street will be closed as sewer installation continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Sewer service disruptions are anticipated. Residents will be notified in advance of any disruption.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted about assisting with dye testing of sewer service connections.

Saturday - Sunday September 23-24, 2017:
