About 8000 people have voted -- we're up to 4.4% of voters!

Voting is at the the Board of Elections downtown, NCCU, and the South and North Libraries until 1PM today.

Everyone in the city votes for candidates from all three wards. The candidates from Ward 1 have to live in Ward 1 so they know the issues there, for example, but they make decisions for the whole city so have to represent both their ward and the whole city. Here is a sample ballot: http://www.dconc.gov/home/showdocument?id=21522

Not sure if (or where or under what name) you are registered? Go to https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup/

If you are not registered in Durham County, they will register you at early voting. You will need something that connects your name to your address, such as a North Carolina driver license, a photo ID from a government agency, a copy of one of the following that shows the name and address of the voter: a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document.

If you just need to update your registration within Durham County, you don't need ID. You may need ID if:

  * For some first-time voters, if for some reason something messed up with the registration form you sent in
  * You are moving your registration from outside Durham County, you will need one of the acceptable documents that may be used to provide proof of residency include: a North Carolina driver license, a photo ID from a government agency, a copy of one of the following that shows the name and address of the voter: a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck or other government document.
