Durham Hosts Proposed Raynor Street Sidewalk Facilities Meeting
Drop-In Style Meeting to Collect Resident Input on Design Plans

DURHAM, N.C. - If you live, work, or travel along Raynor Street<http://durhamnc.gov/DocumentCenter/View/21373/Durham-Hosts-Proposed-Raynor-Street-Sidewalk-Facilities-Meeting> in Durham, you’ll want to mark your calendar for a meeting later this month to discuss pedestrian designs for this city street.

The City of Durham Public Works Department is now preparing designs for pedestrian facilities along Raynor Street from North Miami Boulevard to Hardee Street, and City staff wants to share their work and receive community input.

The drop-in style meeting is set for Thursday, May 31 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Senior Center of the Holton Career and Resource Center, located at 401 North Driver Street. Residents will be able to review the preliminary design, ask questions of City staff and consultants, and provide input before the department completes the design work. The goal of the project is to improve pedestrian accommodations and the proposed improvements include curbs and gutters, ramps, and sidewalks.

For residents who cannot attend this meeting, maps and comment forms to collect feedback will be available after the meeting date on the project website<http://durhamnc.gov/3308/Design-Services-for-Raynor-Street-SW-53D>. Resident feedback is due by June 14, and a second meeting will be scheduled for this project at a later date after receiving input and developing 65 percent of the plans.
