Central Park Waterline Replacement Project Update and Two-Week Look Ahead

September 6, 2018

The City appreciates your ongoing patience with the work along the busy corridors associated with the Central Park Waterline Replacement Project.  Additional information regarding this project can be found at: http://durhamnc.gov/1251/Durham-Central-Park-Waterline-Replacement.

Planned Road / Lane Closures will occur as follows:


  *   Week of 9/10:
     *   Mangum Street will be reduced to one lane between Corporation Street and West Morgan Street.
     *   Corporation Street will be reduced to one lane between Rigsbee Avenue and Mangum Street.
     *   Hunt Street will be reduced to one lane between Rigsbee Avenue and Mangum Street.


  *   Week of 9/17:
     *   Mangum Street will be reduced to one lane between Corporation Street and West Morgan Street.
     *   Corporation Street will be reduced to one lane between Rigsbee Avenue and Mangum Street.
     *   Hunt Street will be reduced to one lane between Rigsbee Avenue and Mangum Street.

Week of September 10, 2018:


  *   Mangum Street will be reduced to one lane between Corporation Street and West Morgan Street as water services are connected to the new water line.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.

  *   Corporation Street will be reduced to one lane as sanitary sewer line installation continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   No water or sewer service disruptions are anticipated.

  *   Periodic one-lane interruptions will occur on Hunt Street between Rigsbee Avenue and Mangum Street as sanitary sewer work continues.

     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   Periodic one-lane interruptions will occur on Corporation Street between N. Duke Street and Mangum Street as water services are connected to the new water line.

     *   Flaggers will be utilized for traffic control.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

Saturday - Sunday September 15-16, 2018:

     *   No work planned.

Week of September 17, 2018:
