Central Park Waterline Replacement Project Update and Two-Week Look Ahead

January 10, 2019

The City appreciates your ongoing patience with the work along the busy corridors associated with the Central Park Waterline Replacement Project.  Additional information regarding this project can be found at: http://durhamnc.gov/1251/Durham-Central-Park-Waterline-Replacement.

Planned Road / Lane Closures will occur as follows:


  *   Week of 1/14:
     *   Intersection of Rigsbee Avenue and Seminary Avenue will be closed.
     *   Rigsbee Avenue will be reduced to one lane northbound between West Morgan Street and Hunt Street.
     *   Intersection of Foster Street and Seminary Avenue will be temporarily closed as sanitary sewer work continues.
     *   Geer Street will be reduced to one lane between Washington Street and Foster Street.
     *   The intersection of Washington Street and Geer Street will be closed. Business parking will be accessible.


  *   Week of 1/21:
     *   Intersection of Rigsbee Avenue and Seminary Avenue will be closed.
     *   Rigsbee Avenue will be reduced to one lane northbound between West Morgan Street and Hunt Street.
     *   Intersection of Foster Street and Seminary Avenue will be temporarily closed as sanitary sewer work continues.
     *   Intersection of Corporation Street and Roney Street will be temporarily closed as sanitary sewer lines are installed.
     *   Geer Street will be reduced to one lane between Washington Street and Foster Street.
     *   The intersection of Washington Street and Geer Street will be closed. Business parking will be accessible.

Week of January 14, 2019:


  *   Rigsbee Avenue will be reduced to one lane as water line installation continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   Foster Street at Seminary Avenue will be reduced to one lane as sanitary sewer work continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.
     *   Sidewalk traffic will be disrupted.
     *   Noise levels in excess of the current City noise ordinance are anticipated during work hours.
     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.
     *   Planned work hours are 7 AM to 6 PM.
     *   Residents and business owners will be contacted in advance of any service disruptions.

  *   West Corporation Street at Roney Street will be closed as sanitary sewer installation continues.

     *   Traffic control signs and markings will be used for all traffic detours.

     *   On-street parking will be closed in work areas.

Week of January 21, 2019:
