Most City of Durham Offices Closed for Good Friday
Residents Asked to Note Changes in City-Provided Services & Programs

DURHAM, N.C. - Most City of Durham offices, including City Hall and other non-emergency City operations, will be closed Friday, April 19 in observance of Good Friday<https://durhamnc.gov/ArchiveCenter/ViewFile/Item/4299>. Police, fire, and rescue services for life-threatening or in-progress emergencies may be reached by calling 9-1-1. Non-emergency concerns may be directed to (919) 560-4600. Residents are asked to take note of the following changes in other City services and programs.

Solid Waste, Recycling, Yard Waste, and Bulky Item Curbside Collections
The Solid Waste Management Department<https://durhamnc.gov/832/Solid-Waste-Management> will be closed on April 19. There are no changes to curbside recycling or garbage collection schedules. Curbside collections for yard waste and bulky items on April 19 will instead occur on April 22. The Waste Disposal & Recycling Center, Yard Waste Facility, and the Household Hazardous Waste Center<https://durhamnc.gov/898/Disposal-Facilities> will also be closed on April 19. Durham Parks and Recreation
Durham Parks and Recreation<https://www.dprplaymore.org/> will close its administrative office and its recreation centers on April 19. Recreation centers will open under their normal schedules on April 20. City lakes and picnic shelters will operate under normal schedules April 19-22. The administrative office will reopen on April 22. Water Management
Normal operating hours for the Water Management Department's Water and Sewer Maintenance Division are from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Water main break<https://durhamnc.gov/1344/Report-Water-Main-Breaks> and sewer overflow<https://durhamnc.gov/1346/Report-Sewer-Overflows-Backups> calls for service placed after-hours, weekends or on City-recognized holidays should be directed to the department's after-hours emergency phone number at (919) 560-4344, which will dispatch on-call crews. Durham One Call
Durham One Call<https://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call> will be closed on April 19. Residents may submit a service request using the free smartphone app available in the Apple<https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/durham-one-call/id1201890986?mt=8> and Google Play<https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.accela.durham_nc&hl=en> stores, complete and submit an online service request<https://durhamnc.gov/1439/Durham-One-Call>, or leave a message at (919) 560-1200. Durham One Call will forward all requests for City services to the appropriate department on the next business day.

GoDurham<http://godurhamtransit.org/> and GoDurham ACCESS<http://godurhamtransit.org/access> will operate normally on April 19, but administrative offices will be closed.
