Apply Now for Durham Neighborhood College
Deadline to Apply Is July 26

DURHAM, N.C. - Residents looking to play a more active role in their neighborhoods and the Durham community should apply now for the 2019 Durham Neighborhood College.

Co-sponsored by the City of Durham and Durham County governments, Durham Neighborhood College provides an opportunity for residents to learn about the organizations, operations, and services of both local governments. The program features a series of interactive classes facilitated by City and County employees who work hard to provide quality services to make Durham a great place to live, work, and play.

Classes will be held on seven Thursday nights beginning September 12 through October 24 from 6-8:30 p.m. A light meal is served prior to the start of each class and sessions are held at City and County facilities. There is a $30 fee for residents accepted into the program and a limited number of scholarships are available, if needed.

Applications are now being accepted through Friday, July 26. Space is limited to 30 participants with the goal of a diverse cohort representing different neighborhoods as well as residents outside the city limits. Area high school students ages 15 and up as well as Latino residents are encouraged to apply.
