Durham Seeks Input on Accessibility for ADA Transition Plan
Online Surveys in English and Spanish Open Until July 29

DURHAM, N.C. - Do you have concerns or suggestions on how the City of Durham can be more accessible for people with disabilities? Now's your chance to share your feedback through an online survey available in both English<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RP8GKD9> and Spanish<https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/KW3877L>.

The City of Durham General Services Department is currently in the process of updating its Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. The accessibility plan provides a comprehensive strategy for access for individuals with disabilities to all City programs, services, activities, and public facilities, and also helps to address and prioritize current and future needs.

As part of this process, the department is seeking comments and concerns regarding accessibility to assist in the development of the plan. According to ADA Coordinator Logan Small, input from Durham residents is vital to help ensure the organization is meeting the needs of people with disabilities. "Stakeholder guidance will help us to address and prioritize current and future needs," Small said. "Individuals who would like to provide input are invited to complete the online survey, call, or email me. Their comments and opinions are important and will provide valuable information regarding how our local government can better serve our residents with disabilities."

Both online English<https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RP8GKD9> and Spanish<https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/KW3877L> surveys are available until Monday, July 29. Hard copies in both English and Spanish may also be requested by contacting Small at (919) 560-4197, ext. 21237 or by email to ADA at DurhamNC.gov<mailto:ADA at DurhamNC.gov>. For more information on the City's existing ADA Policy, visit https://durhamnc.gov/823/Accessibility-ADA.
