DCHC MPO Hosts Reimagining US 15-501 Public Workshop

DURHAM, N.C. - If you travel along U.S. Highway 15-501 between Durham and Chapel Hill, you know how congested it can be each day. To help plan for the future of this busy highway, resident feedback is now being sought on recommendations to relieve traffic congestion between Durham and Chapel Hill.

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) are co-hosting a third public workshop for the Reimagining 15-501 Corridor Study on Thursday, October 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Chapel Hill Bible Church, located at 260 Erwin Road, Chapel Hill.

The purpose of this third public workshop is to review and comment on proposed concepts for addressing future transportation challenges in the U.S. Highway 15-501 Corridor between Ephesus Church Road in Chapel Hill and University Drive in Durham. Residents will be able to comment on their preferred concepts, which will help guide the project team in selecting the concepts that will be studied in detail as they move toward final recommendations for the corridor. This workshop is a drop-in style meeting where staff will answer questions and receive feedback.
