[Durham INC] Update on DOT's proposal to cave to the billboard industry

The short answer is they are still re-thinking it -- which is good, I guess. The deadline to comment on the proposed rules is passed, but it wouldn't hurt to write to say that you're glad they manage to revise their thinking on this.

Good morning. Per the information listed below, the Department of Transportation’s 19A NCAC 02E .0600 administrative code rules are on the Rules Review Commission agenda for May. These rules received very limited public comments. As you will recall, most of the public comments concerned the 19A NCAC 02E .0200 Outdoor Advertising rules. These rules continue to be reviewed by the agency, and have not been submitted to the Rules Review Commission.

The Rules Review Commission meeting will be held Thursday, May 21st at 9:00 a.m.

To ensure compliance with Executive Order 138 and to encourage social distancing, the meeting will be conducted telephonically in accordance with the provisions of G.S. 143-318.13.   Members of the public may call in to the meeting or listen to the meeting via electronic streaming by following the directions below.

The telephone number to call in and participate in the meeting is (877) 411-9748. You will then be prompted to enter access code 4707388. You will then be connected to the meeting and will be permitted to address the Commission at the appropriate time.

(1)                 The audio for the meeting will be streamed live from the meeting room and you will have the opportunity to listen in if you do not wish to be heard on any matter before the Commission at this meeting.
