Carolina Demography has sobering statistics -- We are 37 out of 50 states in response rate, and Durham County is 4% points below state average.

More about North Carolina self-response rates. On Friday, March 20 the U.S. Census Bureau began publishing self-response rates for the 2020 Census.
www.ncdemography.org

We are probably missing kids when the census enumerators get how many names were on the lease from apartment buildings.

The Census Bureau has a 3.5-page list of all the programs that distribute $$ on the basis of population and someone in Durham calculated we get over $1300 for every person we count.

A lot of people are really afraid to respond. I think you can refuse to enter your details (just say PersonA is female and 43 years old).

Regards, pat

Hi all!

The Census deadline is quickly approaching, and it is so important to continue encouraging people to complete it.

North Carolina failed to count an estimated 25,000 young children in the 2010 Census, and could miss an estimated 73,000 young children in the 2020 Census. I am attaching email templates and graphics (in English and Spanish) that can be forwarded to the families that you all work with.

Let me know if any other content would be more useful to send.

Thank you all for the support and for continuing to spread the message.
