County Accepting Applications from Nonprofits Supporting COVID-19 Response and Recovery
Virtual information sessions for grant funding October 20 and October 22


[Formal Shield]Durham, NC - October 19, 2020 - The pandemic has led many Americans to depend heavily upon government-issued relief and support from organizations committed to providing support to those needing assistance to survive the worldwide crisis. Durham County Government is now offering funding help to nonprofit agencies providing response to COVID related hardships experienced throughout the community. Applications for available funding will be accepted until Thursday, November 12, 2020.

The 18-month funding program, running from January 1, 2021 until June 30, 2022, will seek proposals from Durham-based nonprofits that address both COVID response and recovery issues, as well as plan for stronger, more equitable systems in the aftermath of COVID, across four strategic areas of focus for available funding include:

  *   Food Security
  *   Child, Youth, and Family Wellness and Learning
  *   Workforce Development
  *   Safe and Stable Housing

Nonprofit agencies awarded funding support from the Durham County nonprofit grant will be announced in early January 2020. Recipients of funds will be required to meet with Durham County staff to finalize a quarterly report template, including a list of activities, deliverables, and performance measures.

The County will hold two information sessions about the new process via Zoom videoconferencing on the following dates:
