Is there really any question as to which group carries more influence? 😡

Seeking your input on the annexation and rezoning process; aiming to lift historically marginalized and underrepresented voices
 |

|
The Durham City-County Planning department is embarking upon a path forward to improve the way land use cases – which include zoning map changes and annexation petitions - are processed. We know that as the community we work in changes, we need to change with it to better meet its needs. Through this process, we are committed to learning from our residential and applicant communities, prioritizing historically marginalized and underrepresented voices, and in return, working to educate our community on how land use decisions are made and how they can become a part of the development fabric of Durham.

There are several steps on the path forward to making the land use engagement initiative successful, and we would like to invite you to be a part of this collaborative journey. The first step in this exciting initiative is through a survey that is being sent to both the development and residential communities. The survey is an opportunity to provide feedback on how the current process works or does not work, identify what information you have on the process, and which information you need as a community member or applicant.

The opportunity to provide input and feedback on the current process can be found on our Social Pinpoint page, where you will find survey links for both community members and applicants.

The surveys will remain open until May 1, 2021.   For further assistance with completing these surveys, or to provide additional input on ways to improve the land use process, please email LandUse at DurhamNC.gov
