Watch the May ‘In Touch with Durham County’
This month’s guests discuss Urban Heat Island Mapping & Durham County EMS

Durham, N.C. – The Durham County Public Information Office continues to bring residents who are also social distancing important information on our programs and services with the “In Touch with Durham County” show for May 2021 shot completely online and safe! In this month’s episode, host Deborah Craig-Ray, General Manager of Strategic Planning and Innovation, welcomes Durham County Sustainability Manager Tobin Freid and Chief Paramedic Mark Lockhart from Durham County Emergency Medical Services.

Freid recently celebrated her 13th year as the County’s Sustainability Manager. She comes on to talk about our community’s efforts in protecting and enhancing our local environment. Freid also shares the exciting news about Durham County joining the City of Raleigh in partnership this summer for an urban heat island mapping program that will need help from resident volunteers!

In segment two, Lockhart visits our show for the first time since joining Durham County Government. He will discuss how Durham EMS has adapted and responded to the COVID-19 pandemic to still offer great service to the community. He’ll also discuss job openings for positions in EMS and future plans for his office.
