County’s 4 Convenience Sites to Remain Closed on Jan. 22

Durham, N.C. – Durham County’s four Solid Waste Convenience Sites will remain closed on Saturday, January 22, 2022, due to expected weather impacts of accumulated snow and ice from today’s winter storm.

The locations: Rougemont – 108 Bill Poole Rd.; Bahama – 9008 Quail Roost Rd., Redwood – 100 Electra Rd., and Parkwood – 5928 Highway 55, will reopen for normal business hours on Monday, January 24 as weather conditions allow.

“Due to the uncertainty of road conditions for Saturday morning leading into the sites, and the predicted accumulation of 1-2 inches of snow fall that could cause muddy and treacherous conditions within the sites, the decision has been made to close the Convenience Sites on Saturday, January 22 in order to ensure the safety of our customers and staff," said Durham County Solid Waste Program Manager Chrissie Koroivui.
