*Plan to Attend - Let’s Talk Civics: Get to Know Your Local Government on
February 22*



The League of Women Voters is presenting *Let's Talk Civics: Get to Know
Your Local Government *on *February 22 from 5:30 - 7 pm*. The online
program will begin with a 25-minute PowerPoint presentation outlining the
structure and function of local governments in NC with specific examples
from our three counties and their municipalities. Following the
presentation, we will have a robust discussion with three special guests –
Durham Mayor Elaine O’Neal, Hillsborough Mayor Jenn Weaver, and Pittsboro
Mayor Cindy Perry – about the challenges and opportunities they are facing,
and ways that citizens can more effectively participate in local government
decisions. There will be time for your questions and comments at the end.
