Durham, N.C. - The Durham County Public Information Office continues to bring residents who are also social distancing important information on our programs and services with the "In Touch with Durham County" show for April 2022<https://youtu.be/42FXZ66IwXE> shot completely online and safe!

In this month's episode<https://youtu.be/42FXZ66IwXE>, host Deborah Craig-Ray, General Manager of Strategic Planning and Innovation, welcomes Board of Commissioners Vice Chair Wendy Jacobs and Durham City-County Inspections Director Thomas Hosey.

Jacobs returns to the show for the first time since 2020. In an in-depth chat, Jacobs discusses her background in public service that began as an activist in her college days. She will also discuss the critical decisions the Board made at the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic in March of 2020 and continuing today. Jacobs discusses the myriad of challenges residents and businesses faced in this unprecedented time. As we emerge from the pandemic, she discusses the future, including American Rescue Plan Act and federal infrastructure funding and how they will benefit Durham County today and in the future. In segment two, Hosey visits the In Touch virtual set for his first appearance on our show. He joined the Inspections team in 2021. Hosey will talk about his more than 30-year career and what led him to Durham. He will also discuss the role that his department has in assuring the health and safety of residents through enforcement and education of the various state building codes as well as local zoning ordinances.
