*The United States spends more money per person on healthcare than any
other advanced nation, yet our health outcomes lag behind—mainly due to
structural racism.  *

Communities of color are disproportionately affected by high healthcare
costs due to inequitable policies, structures, and systems that make it
extremely difficult to access health insurance and afford health care
services.

program is offering up to $1.3 million in funding for research projects
that help support and improve policies about the affordability of care.

Proposals should focus on a historically marginalized racial or ethnic
group, people with disabilities, immigrants, people from the LGBTQ+
community, or another community that has historically faced systemic and
persistent barriers to good health.
