[Durham INC] New update on further Durham CCO trail re-opening & info!

The Rocky Creek Greenway is reopen! This is the fourth trail to be
renovated and reopened as part of the City's trail repair project that
focuses on fixing some of the oldest trails that are in the worst
condition. Built in 1988 (it's possible some people on this email were born
*after* this trail was built), the Rocky Creek Greenway is an approximately
0.75-mile trail and greenway corridor that parallels a Third Fork Creek
Tributary and connects the American Tobacco Trail to the Pearsontown Trail
and to NC 55 at Dakota Street. In addition to the connectivity with NC 55,
Pearsontown Trail, and the ATT, the Rocky Creek Greenway provides a safe
route to Fayetteville Elementary, James. E. Shepard Magnet Middle School,
and Elmira Park.


The Rocky Creek Greenway is a local neighborhood favorite that provides
safe travel for travelers choosing to use the trail for their social,
recreational, or employment-related needs. This trail travels through
well-established neighborhood areas with many residents celebrating being
the 2nd and 3rd generations to live there. In a few years, the northern end
of the Rocky Creek Greenway will connect with the future R. Kelly Bryant
Bridge Trail that is currently in design.


DPR is pleased to have the Rocky Creek Greenway reopen and appreciates the
support this project has received from all of you. We invite you to come
visit the newly resurfaced trail, take a photo, post it to social media,
