Topics for March show include Durham Local Reentry Council and the new Northern Durham Convenience site

In this month’s episode<https://youtu.be/Ica6ScjPBH4>, host Deborah Craig-Ray, Chief Communications Officer, welcomes Criminal Justice Resource Center Assistant Director Roshanna Parker and Solid Waste, Recycling and Litter Control Program Manager Chrissie Koroivui.

Parker joins us for segment one with a discussion of the Durham Local Reentry Council – a network of individuals and partner agencies that provide support and coordination of services for our community’s justice involved individuals. Parker will talk about how the LRC helps with the reentry process in our community, how important partner agencies are to their work, and future programs and projects that involve American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. She also talks about National Second Chance Month which takes place every April.

During segment two, Koroivui returns to our show with exciting news about the newly opened Northern Durham Convenience Center. This state-of-the-art facility is much larger than the two it replaces in Bahama and Rougemont, and is a one-stop place for residents of unincorporated Durham County to bring their solid waste and recycling for drop off. She also discusses some of the other services from her department, as well as exciting news about what is coming next for Solid Waste and Recycling in Durham.
