DCHC MPO Seeks Public Comment on Project Priority Lists
Input Requested by September 4

DURHAM, N.C. - If you're interested in bicycle, pedestrian, transit, rail, and highway transportation projects now is the time to give your input on our region's short range project priority lists.

Residents are encouraged to review projects from four different mode categories (Bicycle and Pedestrian; Transit; Rail; and Highway) and choose their top five projects from each category in the following online survey, which will close at 11:59 p.m. on September 4.

  *   Survey in English: https://metroquestsurvey.com/hc7y7p<https://www.dchcmpo.org/?splash=https%3a%2f%2fmetroquestsurvey.com%2fhc7y7p&____isexternal=true>
  *   Encuesta en Español: https://metroquestsurvey.com/9vz4e<https://www.dchcmpo.org/?splash=https%3a%2f%2fmetroquestsurvey.com%2f9vz4e&____isexternal=true>

The Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (DCHC MPO) participates in the Strategic Prioritization of Transportation (SPOT<https://www.dchcmpo.org/home/showpublisheddocument/4286/638276992814589834>) process once every two years. Projects are submitted from across the state and the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) scores these projects for potential funding, which is extremely limited for this program.

Projects on this list include adding side paths on both sides of University Drive from Cornwallis Road to Blackwell Street, crossing improvements on the rail line at Blackwell Street, and a median on Holloway Street from Lynn Road to Mineral Springs Road to improve safety and add multimodal accommodations.

To learn more about this process, how feedback will be used, and how this process relates to other DCHC MPO efforts, visit the DCHC MPO information page<https://www.dchcmpo.org/Home/Components/News/News/190/15>. Click here<https://www.dchcmpo.org/home/showpublisheddocument/4288/638277000951498748> for the complete listing of priority projects, which are listed by transportation mode type.

To provide feedback directly to the MPO without taking the above survey, contact Kelly Fomenko by email<mailto:Kelly.Fomenko at dchcmpo.org> or call 919-503-4119.
