Durham Hosts 21st Annual Women’s Forum on March 28
This year’s theme celebrates women who advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion

When: Thursday, March 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.


Where: Join in person at City Hall Council Chambers, 101 City Hall Plaza, Durham, NC 27701, or watch the live broadcast on the City’s social media channels


Event Facts:

  *   The Human Relations Division of the City's Neighborhood Improvement Services Department is proud to present the 21st annual Women's Forum in honor of National Women's History Month. This forum is open to the public, free of charge. This year’s theme, Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, celebrates women who have made significant contributions to the Durham community.



  *   The event will feature a group of panelists with diverse perspectives who will discuss topics such as physical health, mental health, education, and personal growth. Panelists include:



     *   Maralis Mercado Emerson, Clinical Research Coordinator at Duke University School of Nursing
     *   Giseli Ordonez Ochoa, Durham Public Schools Student
     *   Tessa Jackson, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Coordinator at Duke Nicholas School of the Environment
     *   Akeeya Umstead, Member of the Durham Mayor’s Council for Women
     *   Nicolette L. Cagle, Ph.D., Duke University Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion
     *   Anaja McClinton, Youth Involvement Program Coordinator at North Carolina Council for Women and Youth Involvement
     *   Imanie Williams, Youth Consultant with the Durham Office on Youth



  *   Attendees can look forward to a meet and greet with light refreshments from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the City Hall lobby to network and build connections with City staff and community leaders.
