This November, all Durham residents who are eligible to vote will have an
opportunity to vote on a $115 million bond referendum to fund sidewalks and
street projects in Durham and an $85 million bond referendum to fund
parks. On Monday, July 29th from 7-8pm at ReCity (112 Broadway Street),
Bike Durham is hosting a Teach-In about the Sidewalk and Streets
referendum. Assistant Director for Public Works Tasha Johnson, and
Transportation Planning Manager Erin Convery will present on the projects
that would be funded through bond revenues and on the projects that have
been added to the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) with
anticipation of the additional revenues. Bike Durham staff will then share
information about how to get involved in the voter education campaign.
