Doyle Our Guest on latest “In Touch with Durham County”
DCo Tax Administrator talks all about the 2025 General Reappraisal
Durham, N.C. – The December 2024 edition<https://youtu.be/i4FScaKFAzk> of the “In Touch with Durham County” show from the Durham County Public Information Office is here with information to prepare our community for the 2025 General Reappraisal of real property taxes. Our goal each month is to have great conversations with our Durham County staff, and community partners so that we can share valuable information about our programs and services.
On the latest episode<https://youtu.be/i4FScaKFAzk>, our host Durham County Chief Communications Officer Deborah Craig-Ray welcomes Durham County Tax Administrator Keyar Doyle back to our TV studio for the entire edition of ITWDC!
The show is available to watch on the DCo YouTube channel (subscribe here<https://youtu.be/daSS63qpQjg>); as well as on the Durham County Government website<https://www.dconc.gov/county-departments/departments-f-z/public-information/the-durham-county-government-show> and the Durham Television Network<https://durhamnc.gov/1104/Durham-Television-Network>.
Doyle visits us to talk about how Durham County is reappraising real property – something required by North Carolina law for all 100 counties at least once every eight years. This is Durham County’s first reappraisal since 2019. Going forward, the county will reappraise property every four years, to make the process more equitable, predictable, and manageable for everyone.
During our conversation, we will talk about the Schedule of Values recently approved by the Board of County Commissioners, what residents can expect as the Notice of Values will arrive in their mailboxes in February, how tax values are assessed, property tax relief programs, public sessions the Tax Administration holds in the county, and what residents need to know in regard to appealing their values and paying their bill.
He also invites residents to visit the Tax Administration website here<https://www.dconc.gov/county-departments/departments-f-z/tax-administration/2025-general-reappraisal-revaluation-copy>.
We hope you enjoy the show<https://youtu.be/i4FScaKFAzk>!
