 to a clean, equitable economy that creates jobs and economic growth throughout the state.  The order directs several new initiatives, including the de</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black">velopment<span style="border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in"> </span></span><span lang="EN" style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif;color:black;border:none windowtext 1.0pt;padding:0in">of
 a Deep Decarbonization <span>Pathways</span> Analysis (“<span>Pathways</span> Analysis”) to better understand viable <span>pathways</span> to achieve net-zero GHG
 emissions across North Carolina’s economy by 2050 and interim targets.  The project is analyzing various <span>pathways</span>- looking at a variety of factors ranging from technology trends to population growth- to help policymakers
 and stakeholders understand the biggest opportunities to reduce emissions and sequester carbon, as well as further explore the tradeoffs between different emissions reduction strategies.<u></u> <u></u></span></p>
