Building upon the success of last year's theme, we present Then and Now: Part II, which recognizes the best private preservation projects undertaken by home and business owners. Our tour is designed to showcase how preserving and adapting an historic house or building can enrich the lives of the people who live in them, their neighborhoods, and the Durham community as a whole. You will see the work of some of Durham’s best designers and contractors.

Many of the properties on tour this year are concentrated in East Durham others are in neighborhoods across Durham’s historic center. In addition to homes we are pleased to include two important commercial buildings and one home that was converted to business use forty years ago and now has been converted back again.

The tour is scheduled for the weekend of May 20 and 21, from noon until 4:00pm each day.
