Dear ESDA Cluster,
You are Invited!
Attending the ESIP Summer Meeting
<http://www.esipfed.org/meetings/upcoming-meetings/esip-summer-meeting-2017>
(July 25th-29th)? Please join the Semantic Tech Committee and the Earth
Science Data Analytics Cluster for a Brainstorming Session to discuss
potential testbed ideas and identify possible collaboration teams.
The ESIP Lab solicits proposals every year for small, incubation projects.
We are especially interested to bring together semantic technologies with
data consumers, data producers, and data repository owners to discuss how
semantic technologies can help with the time-consuming data pre-processing
tasks that are necessary for data analytics.
Data discovery and acquisition and data pre-processing tasks (e.g.
subsetting variables, reformatting, regridding and reprojecting) can
consume significant amounts of a researcher's time. Many semantic
technologies already available can help to make some of these tasks more
manageable and less time consuming. The ESIP Lab can provide resources to
help with prototyping solutions. Let's discuss projects!
Join us during the Testbed Brainstorm
<http://www.esipfed.org/meetings/upcoming-meetings/esip-summer-meeting-2017>
on Friday, July 28 at 11:30 to discuss proposal ideas.
We hope to see you there,
Lindsay Barbieri (Bar)
on behalf of ESDA & SemTech
