Preparation for ice storms, snow, tornadoes, hurricanes

If cannot travel due to ice and snow
Prescription medicine

In case electricity goes out what to have one hand
Cell phone (has been replenished)
Gas in the car (in case of an emergency)
Radio (battery or solar powered)

Weather radio (battery or solar powered)
Money on hand (in case cannot use an ATM)
Nonperishable food, including 6 packs of soy or rice milk (not need to be
refrigerated,) fruits &   vegetables (for example apples and carrots)
Cooler and fake ice (so not to open refrigerator to replenish ice)
Flashlights and batteries
Lantern (like use for camping) and power source (kerosene, batteries etc)

Moving on ice and snow
Sand
Cat litter
Fertilizer (beware may damage plants)

Carry in car during cold
Blankets 
Sand (for traction and weight)
Non-perishable food
Ice scrapper

Outdoor birds & pets
Dogs keep indoors
Dog and cat food
Heater for bird baths (using water saved while waiting to take shower and
wash dishes)
