INC NEWS - Getting it backwards: push-back against Neighborhood Advocate; speeding up development process

The Neighborhood Advocate would help citizens and
neighborhoods cut through the many layers of
bureaucracy now in place.

Neighborhoods don't have a go-to person for
information and assistance on planning and zoning
matters. (NIS is mostly focused on code enforcement,
not planning and zoning. Planning has a large staff
helping developers get their projects through the
system.)

We're seeing push-back against a Neighborhood Advocate
and, at the same time, the development industry is
pushing an effort to speed up the development process.

Seems like some people are getting it backwards. We
can do better.

best wishes,
John
