INC NEWS - Senator Atwater's 'legislative update' postcard

You should receive Senator Atwater's legislative
update 'postcard' any day now. It contains a section
where you can tell him issues that are most affecting
you. If nothing comes to mind, don't throw that
postcard away, please consider asking him to make the
ability to impose impact fees solely on new
development consistent across the state of NC by
giving ALL NC counties the right to impose such impact
fees. Orange and Chatham counties (and others) have
been doing this for years, but Durham (and most other
NC counties) are STILL prohibited from doing so (not
to mention taxpayers had to pay for the development
industry's lawsuit when we tried to do so).

And if you haven't already done so, please sign the

We have 485 signatures, but would like 1000 before
presenting the petition to the Durham delegation.

And please pass the petition information to your
neighborhood listservs and/or other listservs or
friends you think may be interested.
