GOOD MUSIC IS HAPPENING IN DURHAM!
Looking for something to do this Saturday (June 7)? Join Durham Parks
and Recreation for an evening concert of Latin Jazz featuring The Latin
Project on the CCB Plaza (corner of Corcoran and Parrish Streets in
downtown Durham) from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The Latin Project pays homage to early Cuban and Puerto Rican music. The
style is based on the sound of the mambo, guaguanco, rumba, guaracha,
son, cha cha cha and other Caribbean rhythms from the 50's and 60's. The
Latin Project is also known as The Latin Jazz Project and incorporates
Latin jazz into its repertoire. The group blends two musical genres into
an explosive and upbeat, challenging and sophisticated musical
expression. The group's mission is to share rich music and rhythms with
all the different cultures represented in our communities.
Before you go to the movies, the Durham Bulls Game, dinner or a cookout,
kick off your evening on the CCB Plaza. For more information call (919)
560-4355.
